Copper Mineralization Confirmed to Extend Westward at Santo Tomás Project in Mexico
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, Canadian mining company Oroco Resources released the third batch of assay results from the Phase II resource drilling program at the Santo Tomás copper project in Mexico. Drill holes S031 and S034 intersected the boundary of the 2024 inferred resource block model in the central-western portion of the South Zone, confirming that copper mineralization continues to extend westward locally. Currently, three drill rigs remain active on site.

Drill hole S033 intersected mineralization from a depth of 48 meters, including a 26.48-meter interval grading 0.90% copper and 1.18% copper equivalent. This interval is contained within a broader mineralized zone of 114.7 meters grading 0.44% copper and 0.54% copper equivalent. The company noted that all reported lengths are core lengths measured along the drill holes, and true thicknesses of the mineralized bodies remain to be confirmed during subsequent geological and resource model updates.
Drill hole S031 encountered near-surface mineralization, which, combined with mineralized outcrops to the west, suggests the mineralized body may extend up to 330 meters further westward; the adjacent drill hole S034 also intersected mineralization outside the current inferred resource boundary. Drill hole S030, located at the southern end of the South Zone, intercepted 49 meters of mixed oxide-sulfide mineralization from a depth of 12 meters, grading 0.80% copper, and drill holes S027, S030, and S032 have largely delineated the southern boundary of this area.
The Phase II drilling program is primarily intended to upgrade a portion of the inferred resources in the South Zone to indicated resources and to collect geotechnical, hydrogeological, and metallurgical data required for the pre-feasibility study. Resource drilling in the South Zone is nearing completion, after which the drill rigs will be relocated to the gap area between the South and North Zones. The pre-feasibility study is scheduled for release in the second or third quarter of 2027. The results from this round of drilling have not yet generated new mineral resource estimates.
