en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 10, Singapore's Pacific International Lines (PIL) took delivery of the 13,000-TEU LNG dual-fuel container vessel "Kota Elan," built by China's Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding. The vessel was delivered 233 days ahead of the contractual delivery date, marking the second vessel in the same series to be completed and delivered.
The "Kota Elan" measures 335 meters in length, 51 meters in beam, and 27.2 meters in depth, with a maximum container capacity exceeding 13,000 TEU and the ability to carry approximately 2,200 reefer containers. The vessel is equipped with a 12,000-cubic-meter Type B LNG fuel tank and a gas supply system, and can achieve a cruising range of up to 22,000 nautical miles when operating in LNG mode.
The vessel can run on LNG or low-sulfur fuel oil. Its hull features optimized lines, energy-saving coatings, and wind deflectors, and it is fitted with artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and automation systems for navigation monitoring, equipment management, and onboard operations. Upon delivery, the vessel will be deployed on PIL's route connecting Asia and South America.
The "Kota Elan" and its sister vessel "Kota Embun" were jointly named in June this year, and the two vessels are the first in PIL's new batch of 13 13,000-TEU container ships. This delivery continues PIL's fleet renewal program to replace and expand its existing capacity with LNG dual-fuel vessels.
