en.Wedoany.com Reported - Multiplex has been awarded the main construction contract for a 36-storey office building on the edge of the City of London, with the project being developed by Endurance Land, a subsidiary of Hong Kong's Nan Fung Group. The building is located at 99 City Road in the EC1 district, with construction data analytics firm Glenigan valuing the project at £300 million. Construction is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2026, with practical completion targeted for 2030. The contract value has not been disclosed.

The tower, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), will provide approximately 44,100 square metres of commercial space, accommodating up to 4,000 people. The design aims to attract technology and innovation-driven tenants, featuring flexible office floorplates and enhanced power capacity. Amenities include a triple-height events space, wellness suites, dining and coffee facilities, meeting lounges, private terraces, and maker spaces.
The project targets BREEAM "Outstanding", Nabers 5-star, SmartScore, and WiredScore Platinum certifications. Arup is serving as mechanical, electrical, and sustainability consultant; structural engineer AKT II, cost consultant Arcadis, and facade consultant FMDC are all involved in the project, with Knight Frank appointed as leasing agent.
Prior to securing the main contract, Multiplex had been involved in the project under a pre-construction services agreement. This marks the second major development collaboration between Endurance Land and Multiplex, following their previous work together on the Regent Quarter project. Multiplex recently completed Jahn Court and Brassworks within the King's Cross development, which Endurance Land stated have been leased to OpenAI and are expected to be operational in 2027.
Richard Rixson, Director at Endurance Land, said the developer chose Multiplex because of the contractor's previous work for them. He said: "Appointing Multiplex as main contractor is not just about bringing in a first-class builder; it's about working with a team that truly understands us." Multiplex Managing Director Callum Tuckett said: "This project is designed to meet the needs of technology and innovation-driven tenants, combining flexible, high-performance office space with the infrastructure and amenities needed to support future growth."
Multiplex became part of Japanese contractor Obayashi Corporation in June 2026.
