en.Wedoany.com Reported - Startimes Madagascar recently secured a contract with the Malagasy government for microgrid and nanogrid projects, becoming a partner of the Fonds DECIM (Madagascar Inclusive Digital and Energy Connectivity Fund), responsible for the marketing and distribution of microgrid products in the local market.
Madagascar has long faced a shortage of electricity supply, with the energy gap posing a persistent constraint on socio-economic development. In response to this situation, the World Bank and the Ministry of Energy of Madagascar jointly launched the Fonds DECIM on January 23, 2025. The fund adopts a Results-Based Financing (RBF) mechanism, providing financing to solar product distribution companies and private institutions through two modalities: project subsidies and credit support. Its management is jointly undertaken by Bamboo Capital Partners and Banque BRED MADAGASIKARA.
The World Bank microgrid project supported by this fund encompasses 80 microgrids in Nigeria and is expected to benefit approximately 40,000 households. Within this framework, Startimes Madagascar won the government's microgrid and nanogrid project, contributing to the advancement of energy inclusion in the country.
The acquisition of this contract not only reflects international institutions' recognition of Startimes' project execution capabilities, but also builds on the brand recognition and user base the company has accumulated in Madagascar in recent years. Startimes has established a three-tier marketing system in the country, spanning from urban to rural areas, thereby forming a market service network with extensive coverage and high operational efficiency, providing support for the sales and after-sales service of solar products.
