en.Wedoany.com Reported - Scottish crawler crane rental company Weldex has recently taken delivery of a new 500-ton Liebherr LR 1500 lattice boom crawler crane.

The LR 1500 model, launched in 2015, achieves its maximum lifting capacity at a radius of 7.5 meters; at a 12-meter radius, the lifting capacity is 400 tons. The crane features a maximum main boom length of 108 meters, which can be extended to a total of 132 meters with the installation of a back mast; the maximum tip height is 168 meters, achieved with an 84-meter main boom paired with an 84-meter luffing jib.

The crane has an overall working width of 9.1 meters, with a maximum single-piece transport weight of no more than 45 tons and a maximum single-piece width of no more than 3 meters. The equipment is fitted with a 30-meter derrick boom (back mast) and 260 tons of counterweight, with the derrick radius adjustable between 9 and 16 meters, allowing the crane to maintain high lifting capacity even when operating in confined spaces.

This unit is part of a package of equipment newly ordered by Weldex, with the remaining units to be delivered over the rest of the year. Shortly after arrival, the new crane was already deployed on its first project.

Headquartered in Inverness, Scotland, Weldex was founded in 1979 by the McGilvray family, initially supplying cranes to construction companies across Scotland. Today, it is one of the largest crawler crane rental companies in the UK, with a fleet covering lifting capacities from 5 tons to 1,350 tons, serving both the UK and international markets.
