en.Wedoany.com Reported - Western Australian mining explorer Javelin Minerals (ASX:JAV) plans to commence a 1,800-meter diamond drilling program at the Coogee Gold Project in early September, targeting two "major" intrusive gold-copper targets at Coogee North and Coogee West. The drill rig, supplied by Westralian Diamond Drilling, is contracted to arrive on site by the end of August, with the entire program expected to take approximately six weeks.

Both drill holes will be co-funded by grants from the Western Australian Government's Exploration Incentive Scheme, aiming to test large untested geophysical anomalies beneath existing shallow drilling.

The Coogee Project is located 55 kilometers southeast of Kalgoorlie and holds approved mining leases. Current project resources stand at 3.6 million tonnes of ore at a gold grade of 1.08 g/t, containing 127,000 ounces of gold; plus 1 million tonnes of ore at a copper grade of 0.41%, containing 4,122 tonnes of copper.

At Coogee North, a single hole of approximately 800 meters depth will be drilled to test a magnetic anomaly directly beneath the existing gold-copper resource. Recent reverse circulation drilling has intersected high-grade mineralization nearby: 5 meters at 14.22 g/t gold from 143 meters depth; 4 meters at 1.91% copper from 144 meters depth; and 7 meters at 6.42 g/t gold and 2.54% copper from 108 meters depth.

At Coogee West, a single deep hole is planned, targeting an interpreted intrusion approximately 1,000 meters below surface. The target area hosts a 900m × 500m bedrock gold anomaly, with historical shallow aircore drilling returning up to 1.38 g/t gold in bottom-of-hole samples.

Mark Cossom, General Manager of Resources and Exploration, said the company is "excited" about this "ambitious" program. He noted that while these targets remain conceptual, their scale may reflect significant mineralized systems at depth, and these anomalies have never been tested by drilling. The current geophysical response aligns with the mineralogical characteristics of the near-surface alteration system at Coogee North, suggesting the presence of deep-seated intrusions beneath both areas.

The Coogee Project was previously mined by Ramelius Resources (ASX:RMS) during 2013-14, producing 147,400 tonnes of ore at a gold grade of 4.77 g/t, yielding a total of 20,400 ounces of gold.

Javelin Minerals is a listed company focused on the exploration and development of gold, copper, and nickel projects in Western Australia.
