Krones inaugurates INR 3.15 billion bottling equipment plant in Karnataka

en.Wedoany.com Reported - German packaging and bottling equipment manufacturer Krones has inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in the Vemagal industrial area, Kolar district, Karnataka, India. The project involved an investment of INR 3.15 billion (approximately USD 36.4 million) and was completed over an 18-month construction period.

The plant spans 30 acres with a built-up area of 16,000 square meters, primarily producing ErgoBloc packaging systems and various bottling equipment, including high-speed filling lines capable of producing 100,000 Coca-Cola-type bottles per hour. The project is expected to create approximately 400 jobs.

Krones' project is part of the INR 10.27 trillion investment proposals signed during the Karnataka Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2025. Karnataka's Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M B Patil, laid the foundation stone for the project on February 20, 2025, and recently presided over the plant's inauguration ceremony. The investment proposal was approved by the state government in October 2024, and a memorandum of understanding was signed between the parties at the end of that year.

Krones is a globally leading supplier of processing and packaging technology for beverages and liquid foods. In fiscal year 2024, its revenue surpassed EUR 5 billion for the first time, reaching EUR 5.294 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%.
