In an interview with CNBC, Kirby revealed that multiple efforts are currently underway to find ways to achieve this goal. He also said the company may purchase flight slots from other airlines that are not being used for profitable routes at the airport.

United Airlines is currently the second-largest U.S. carrier, trailing only Delta Air Lines and ahead of American Airlines.
