en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 24, Parkin Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bahrain Car Parks Company (Amakin), with both parties set to advance smart parking technology, digital mobility services, and related business cooperation in Bahrain and the Gulf region. The agreement involves the integration of both parties' digital platforms, operational systems, and market resources, and will assess opportunities for jointly undertaking parking and mobility businesses in Gulf Cooperation Council member states and select international markets.

The two parties will first assess the system connectivity between Parkin's and Amakin's digital platforms and study the feasibility of enabling cross-network parking access and fee payment through their respective mobile applications. The scope of cooperation also includes parking and mobility data analytics, with both parties leveraging vehicle and parking data to identify usage patterns and develop data-driven parking management features. The agreement has not yet disclosed specific investment amounts, system launch dates, or the initial list of parking facilities for implementation.

Amakin already operates the Amakin Mobility digital parking platform in Bahrain and has deployed ticketless parking systems based on automatic license plate recognition technology, allowing users to register their vehicles, top up accounts, and complete parking payments via the app. In 2025, the company added 2,788 new parking spaces, bringing its total managed parking spaces to 12,092 by year-end; during the same period, the share of cash payments dropped from 24% at the start of the year to 13% by year-end, and its web payment system expanded coverage to 6 additional parking facilities.

Parkin currently manages approximately 268,300 paid parking spaces. Since 2026, the company has continued to expand its smart parking business beyond Dubai, signing smart parking cooperation agreements with multiple Egyptian entities on August 19; following the signing with Amakin, Bahrain has become another overseas market where the company is advancing digital parking cooperation during the same period.
