en.Wedoany.com Reported - In July 2026, truck traffic crossing the Strait of Gibraltar through the Port of Algeciras, Spain, reached 42,012 vehicles, a 1.48% increase compared to 41,401 vehicles in the same period of 2025.

By route, the Algeciras-Tánger Med route carried 39,144 trucks, up 1.92% year-on-year, compared to 38,406 vehicles in the same period of the previous year; the Algeciras-Ceuta route carried 2,859 vehicles, down 4.25% year-on-year, compared to 2,986 vehicles in the same period of the previous year; traffic on routes to other ports remained stable at 9 vehicles.

In cumulative terms, from January to July this year, truck traffic on the Strait routes reached 329,090 vehicles, a 1.01% increase compared to 325,811 vehicles in the same period of 2025. Among these, the Algeciras-Tánger Med route accumulated 310,396 vehicles, up 1.04% year-on-year; the Ceuta route saw a 0.1% increase, reaching 18,538 vehicles; and traffic to other ports grew by 81.4%, reaching 156 vehicles.

In terms of passenger vehicle traffic, 222,526 vehicles were registered in July, a 2.24% decrease compared to 227,632 vehicles in July 2025. By route, the Algeciras-Ceuta route registered 50,398 vehicles, down 9.51% from 55,697 vehicles in 2025; the Algeciras-Tánger Med route carried 127,695 vehicles, a 3% decrease from 131,651 vehicles in the same period of the previous year; and the Tarifa-Tánger route carried 44,433 vehicles, a 10.3% increase from 40,284 vehicles in the same period of the previous year.

From January to July, a total of 698,893 passenger vehicles were transported, a 2.88% decrease compared to 719,622 vehicles in the same period of the previous year. The Tánger Med route accumulated 340,909 registered vehicles, up 1.22% year-on-year; the Ceuta route registered 242,627 vehicles, down 14.96% year-on-year; and the Tarifa-Tánger route carried 115,357 vehicles, an 18.31% increase year-on-year.
