Thenamaris orders four 3,200 TEU container ships from Hengli

en.Wedoany.com Reported - As of August 31, Greek shipowner Thenamaris has added four 3,200 TEU container ships to its newbuilding program, with coordination handled by its dry bulk and container shipping arm Thenamaris ConBulk. All four vessels will be built at Hengli Heavy Industry's Dalian shipyard, with delivery scheduled for 2028. The contract value of this order has not been disclosed.

The hull numbers of the four newbuildings are HL-C3100-13, HL-C3100-14, HL-C3100-22, and HL-C3100-23, each with a deadweight tonnage of 41,200 tonnes and a container capacity of 3,200 TEU. The vessels measure 199.9 meters in length overall and 35.2 meters in beam. The propulsion system will feature Everllence 6G60ME-C10.5-TIII HPSCR-EGCS main engines, equipped with open-loop scrubber systems, shaft generators, and AMP shore power connection systems. The four vessels share identical key technical specifications and scheduled delivery years.

Thenamaris ConBulk currently manages 24 bulk carriers and 2 container ships, and these four newbuildings represent additional tonnage under construction on top of its existing container fleet. Thenamaris's total number of newbuildings under coordination has now increased to 19, including 12 tankers, 3 large ammonia carriers, and the 4 container ships added to the program this time.

Hengli Heavy Industry is also building three additional 113,300 DWT LR2/Aframax tankers for Thenamaris, with hull numbers HL-P114K-21, HL-P114K-22, and HL-P114K-23. The first two are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2028, and the third in the first quarter of 2029. With the addition of these four container ships, Thenamaris now has seven vessels on order at Hengli Heavy Industry under its newbuilding program.
