en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 31, 2026, physical AI company Applied Intuition Inc. and HUMAIN, a PIF-backed enterprise, announced a strategic partnership to jointly build the foundational framework for national-level autonomous driving in Saudi Arabia, starting with driverless trucks and gradually expanding to robotaxis, ports, mining, and other industries.

Built on a long-term commercial partnership, this collaboration combines HUMAIN's sovereign AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia with Applied Intuition's end-to-end physical AI technology stack for all industries. The two parties plan to deploy thousands of autonomous trucks along Saudi Arabia's major logistics corridors by 2030, building the world's largest autonomous trucking network. This marks the first major initiative under HUMAIN's physical AI strategy, with an initial focus on autonomous trucking and future phases introducing additional physical AI applications.

Autonomous trucks are seen as a natural starting point for building next-generation critical infrastructure—a use case that is large in scale and ready for deployment, where AI can directly impact productivity, logistics, and economic growth. As HUMAIN's physical AI partner, Applied Intuition has already established an office in Riyadh.

HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin stated that autonomous trucks will transform the economics of moving goods and people, and the goal of both parties is to make the region the first to achieve large-scale autonomous truck deployment. Thousands of autonomous trucks operating around the clock will transform the speed, cost, and capacity of logistics networks, generating a multiplier effect across the economy and potentially setting a global benchmark for autonomous freight.

Qasar Younis, co-founder and CEO of Applied Intuition, noted that physical AI is the next frontier of intelligent infrastructure, and Saudi Arabia has the ambition to deploy it at an unprecedented scale. The company's vision is to make one billion machines intelligent worldwide, and this partnership represents the kind of national-scale deployment that this platform enables. The company takes pride in co-creating Saudi Arabia's physical AI future with HUMAIN.

The partnership will leverage Applied Intuition's end-to-end physical AI technology stack, which includes a multi-domain autonomous model that can scale across trucking, mining, agriculture, construction, and other industries. The company's Self-Driving System (SDS), together with the Vehicle OS and supporting vehicle intelligence technologies, will form the core of the collaboration. SDS is already in use on roads in the United States, Europe, and Japan.

Saudi Arabia's geographic conditions, major freight corridors, and continued substantial investment in logistics infrastructure create an opportunity for large-scale autonomous truck deployment. Compared to human-driven fleets, autonomous trucks can operate efficiently for longer periods, potentially improving freight capacity and fleet utilization while enhancing road safety and alleviating labor constraints in commercial trucking.

As part of its long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia, Applied Intuition is building a local team with technical capabilities. The Riyadh office will create high-value jobs needed to launch, operate, and scale autonomous fleets. The two parties aim to position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for autonomous logistics, with plans to expand operations to the broader region in the future.

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, Applied Intuition is dedicated to building the technology that makes one billion machines intelligent, providing physical AI support for the automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining, and agriculture industries. The company currently operates nearly twenty-four offices worldwide, including London, Munich, Tokyo, Seoul, and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

HUMAIN is a global AI company under PIF, operating across four domains: next-generation data centers, hyper-performance infrastructure and cloud platforms, advanced AI models, and transformative AI solutions that combine deep industry insights with real-world execution. Its advanced AI models include some of the world's most sophisticated Arabic large language models developed in the Arab world. HUMAIN serves public and private sector organizations through an end-to-end model, driving digital transformation and enhancing capabilities through human-machine collaboration, while focusing on intellectual property development and global talent building, with the goal of achieving international competitiveness and technological advantage.
