All Three Units of Phase One of the World's Tallest Dam Put into Full Operation
en.Wedoany.com Reported - According to Wedoany.com, all three units of Phase One of the Dadu River Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station, under the National Energy Group, were put into full operation on the same day.

With a dam height of 315 meters, the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station boasts the world's tallest dam. It has a total installed capacity of 2 million kilowatts, featuring four Francis turbine-generator units, each with a single-unit capacity of 500,000 kilowatts. The station generates an average annual electricity output of approximately 7.7 billion kilowatt-hours, enhancing the comprehensive utilization efficiency of water resources across the entire Dadu River basin and adding 6.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity generation annually for the cascade of downstream hydropower stations. It serves as a control reservoir and leading hydropower station in the upper reaches of the Dadu River, integrating flood control, power generation, and water resource regulation functions.
Since the first unit of the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station was put into operation in June this year, the station has actively undertaken the task of ensuring energy supply for the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. In response to social electricity demand during high-temperature weather, it accelerated the goal of commissioning the Phase One units for power generation, efficiently completing the continuous commissioning of the units within two months, thereby consolidating the foundation for summer electricity supply security in Sichuan Province and the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.
