en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 1, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) of Peru published investment arrangements under the 2027–2030 Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework, with the government planning to form a new investment cycle from 2026 to 2030. The diversified investment projects currently included in the framework total approximately USD 116 billion, with mining being the largest sector, involving 66 projects with investments exceeding USD 64 billion.

Copper projects account for a relatively high proportion of the mining project portfolio. The MEF has incorporated mining project development into the 2026–2030 investment arrangements alongside infrastructure, public services, and private capital projects, and has proposed continuing to advance projects at various stages of development. The MEF has officially published the 2027–2030 Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework, which was approved by the Council of Ministers before its release, covering macroeconomic forecasts, fiscal assumptions, and investment arrangements for the next four years.
In addition to mining, Peru plans to promote the awarding of approximately USD 34 billion in public-private partnership (PPP) projects from 2026 to 2028, spanning sectors such as power transmission, industry, water and sanitation, healthcare, and education. Under current arrangements, more than USD 12 billion in water and sanitation, healthcare, and education infrastructure projects are also planned for 2028–2030. Together, the aforementioned mining, PPP, and public infrastructure projects constitute an investment portfolio of approximately USD 116 billion.
Peru's mining investment has already shown rapid growth this year. According to MINEM data, actual mining investment nationwide exceeded USD 2.633 billion from January to May 2026, a year-on-year increase of 43.6%. Among this, cumulative investment in mining infrastructure reached USD 713 million, up 80.2% year-on-year; investment related to beneficiation plants reached USD 387 million, up 16.7% year-on-year. Exploration investment reached USD 64 million in May, an increase of 22.2% month-on-month, while mine equipment investment reached USD 75 million that month, up 39.6% month-on-month.
During the same period, investment was mainly concentrated in Arequipa, Ica, Moquegua, and Áncash, with these four regions together accounting for 50.6% of national mining investment. Investment growth projects tracked by MINEM include mine expansions, sustaining capital expenditure for existing mines, infrastructure works, ore mining preparation, beneficiation facilities, and mine equipment procurement.
