EWE tenders helicopter services for Riffgat offshore wind farm in Germany for 2027

en.Wedoany.com Reported - German energy company EWE, through Offshore-Windpark Riffgat GmbH, has published a tender notice for helicopter transport services for the Riffgat offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, to be used for planned maintenance, unplanned repairs, and troubleshooting operations.

The tender is divided into four lots, each with different requirements for helicopter configuration and passenger capacity. The first two lots require helicopters equipped with winches, for transporting up to 3 passengers and 4 to 5 passengers, respectively; the latter two lots are for helideck operations, suitable for helicopters carrying up to 8 passengers and more than 8 passengers, respectively.

For each lot, the contractor must provide one helicopter to transport personnel and equipment between Emden or Borkum and the wind farm. Depending on operational arrangements, flights to several other locations, including other wind farms, may also be required.

For planned operations, the contractor is required to provide the helicopter after receiving notice by 19:00 the previous day; for unplanned repairs and troubleshooting tasks, the helicopter must be ready for takeoff within an agreed notification period between both parties.

The contract is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2027, and run until March 31, 2029, with two one-year extension options. Bidders may participate in all four lots and also have the opportunity to be awarded all four lots.

Applications for participation must be submitted by 10:00 AM Central European Time on October 1, 2026, and tender invitations are expected to be issued on October 15.

The Riffgat offshore wind farm has an installed capacity of 113.4 MW and was built by EWE in 2013, featuring 30 Siemens Gamesa 3.6 MW turbines, located approximately 15 kilometers northwest of the German island of Borkum.

Since the end of 2020, the wind farm has been operated by Omexom Renewable Energies Offshore GmbH.

Since December 2025, this German offshore wind farm has been continuously supplying power to the ONE-Dyas N05-A platform in the Dutch North Sea.
