en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 2 local time, Boeing delivered O3b mPOWER medium Earth orbit satellites F11, F12, and F13 to satellite communications operator SES, completing the manufacturing and delivery of the first 13 satellites in the system. The final three satellites have arrived at Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA, and will undergo pre-launch preparations.

As planned, F11, F12, and F13 are scheduled to launch from Florida in September aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Following launch, orbit raising, and initialization, the three satellites are expected to enter service by mid-2027. SES currently has 10 O3b mPOWER satellites operating in medium Earth orbit, and the addition of these new satellites will further increase the network's on-orbit capacity once operational.

The O3b mPOWER satellites utilize the Boeing 702X satellite platform and a software-defined payload architecture, enabling dynamic adjustment of bandwidth routing, beam power, and capacity allocation based on communications demands. The constellation serves government agencies, mobile network operators, airlines, cruise lines, as well as enterprise and cloud service customers, providing low-latency, high-throughput, and dedicated bandwidth connectivity services.

Boeing is also applying the software-defined payload architecture already in orbit on O3b mPOWER to U.S. military satellite communications programs, with the enhanced technology being used in the U.S. Space Force's WGS-11 and WGS-12 Wideband Global SATCOM systems, as well as the Evolved Strategic SATCOM program.
