Sonoro Gold's Initial Drilling Discovers New El Quince Mineralized Zone

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 1, Sonoro Gold announced results from the first approximately 10,000 meters of a new drilling campaign at the Cerro Caliche gold project in Sonora, Mexico. A total of 46 reverse circulation holes were completed in this batch, part of the company's ongoing 50,000-meter drilling program, primarily targeting the proposed development area in the central-western portion of the project. The drilling identified a new mineralized zone, El Quince, between existing mineralized zones, and confirmed that multiple northwest-trending mineralized corridors continue to extend laterally and at depth.

El Quince is located between the project's central and western mineralized corridors. After completing road construction, geological mapping, surface sampling, and review of historical mine records, Sonoro Gold positioned 15 drill holes in this area. Hole SCR-348 intersected 9.14 meters grading 3.076 g/t gold and 26.10 g/t silver, including 6.09 meters grading 4.531 g/t gold and 37.5 g/t silver; Hole SCR-349 intersected 18.29 meters grading 1.674 g/t gold and 30.40 g/t silver, including 6.10 meters grading 4.568 g/t gold and 84.60 g/t silver.

Hole SCR-347 returned a mineralized interval of 13.71 meters grading 0.704 g/t gold, including 1.53 meters grading 4.439 g/t gold; Hole SCR-354 returned a mineralized interval of 24.38 meters grading 0.368 g/t gold in the footwall of the San Quintin fault. Drilling results indicate that El Quince mineralization extends northward toward Buena Suerte, with some holes also intersecting the deeper portions of the Cabeza Blanca vein.

Infill and step-out drilling were concurrently carried out in the Buena Suerte area. After discovering mineralization in portions of the previously planned waste rock storage area, Sonoro Gold relocated the waste dump and completed 9 targeted infill holes. Hole SCR-340 returned a mineralized interval of 18.29 meters grading 3.392 g/t gold and 44.3 g/t silver, including 9.14 meters grading 6.438 g/t gold and 85.8 g/t silver. Holes drilled between Cabeza Blanca, Guadalupe, and El Colorado also returned continuous gold mineralization results.

The company used a 0.13 g/t gold cutoff grade as the nominal reporting threshold for this batch of mineralized intervals, estimating that true thickness of the mineralized bodies ranges from approximately 60% to 90% of the reported drilled lengths. Samples were analyzed by Bureau Veritas Laboratories, and this batch of data will be incorporated into the Cerro Caliche geological model and used for the subsequent NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate update.

The effective date of the current Cerro Caliche mineral resource estimate is December 4, 2025, with measured and indicated resources totaling 51.752 million tonnes at an average gold equivalent grade of 0.39 g/t, containing approximately 644,000 ounces of gold equivalent; inferred resources of 8.801 million tonnes at an average gold equivalent grade of 0.34 g/t, containing approximately 97,000 ounces of gold equivalent. The project's preliminary economic assessment contemplates an open-pit mining and heap-leach operation, with a planned processing rate of 12,000 tonnes per day in the first year, increasing to 16,000 tonnes per day thereafter, over a planned mine life of 10 years.

This 50,000-meter drilling campaign is being implemented in two phases. Phase one is planned to complete 25,000 meters, approximately 207 drill holes, and 6,000 soil samples, with completion targeted for fall 2026; Phase two is planned to continue with approximately 25,000 meters, about 220 drill holes, and 3,000 soil samples, extending through spring 2027. The program is funded by Sonoro Gold's previously completed private placement of approximately C$12.2 million, and subsequent work will continue to cover infill drilling of existing mineralized zones, step-out extensions, and drilling in newly identified areas.
