en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 2, AbraSilver Resource Corp. (TSX:ABRA/OTCQX:ABBRF) announced the latest assay results from its Phase VI drilling program at the Cerro Viejo target within the Diablillos project in Salta Province, Argentina. The Cerro Viejo target is located approximately 4 kilometers north of the Oculto deposit, near the border between Salta and Catamarca provinces.

Assay results from five drill holes confirmed widespread gold mineralization in the near-surface oxide zone and identified copper mineralization in the deeper sulfide zone. Key results include: drill hole DDH 26-037 intersected 27 meters @ 0.58 g/t gold and 4.6 g/t silver from a depth of 23 meters within the oxide zone; drill hole DDH 26-047 intersected 32 meters @ 0.29 g/t gold and 2.8 g/t silver from a depth of 9 meters, and continued to intersect 14 meters @ 1.50 g/t gold and 6.2 g/t silver below 54 meters depth. The Company stated that reported thicknesses represent down-hole lengths, and true thicknesses have not yet been determined. Assay results are uncut and undiluted raw data.

The discovery of deeper copper mineralization adds a new value dimension to the project. Drill hole DDH 26-043 intersected 7 meters @ 0.53% copper from a depth of 97 meters within the sulfide zone. This result further confirms the geological model's interpretation: a sulfide copper mineralization system exists beneath the oxide gold mineralization. Drill hole DDH 26-048 intersected 21 meters @ 0.12 g/t gold and 0.10% copper from a depth of 82 meters, and 18 meters @ 0.13 g/t gold and 0.06% copper from a depth of 212 meters.

Cerro Viejo is not a brand-new exploration target. In January 2025, AbraSilver's reconnaissance drilling at this area, hole DDH 24-056, intersected 36 meters @ 1.91 g/t gold (from 87 meters), including a high-grade interval of 5 meters @ 7.22 g/t gold. In November 2025, the Company also reported broad gold-silver-copper mineralization results. These new Phase VI results further confirm the exploration potential of this target.

AbraSilver completed the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for the Diablillos project in June 2026. The study outlines a conventional open-pit mining operation with a 25-year mine life and average annual silver-equivalent production of approximately 10.3 million ounces. The DFS defined proven and probable reserves of 77.9 million tonnes at an average silver-equivalent grade of 146 g/t, containing approximately 183 million ounces of silver and 1.8 million ounces of gold. The Company targets production by the end of 2029, subject to a final investment decision expected in the second quarter of 2027.

The Company explicitly stated that the Cerro Viejo drill results have not been included in the DFS reserve or resource estimates. The Phase VI drilling program totals at least 15,000 meters, with objectives including expanding existing resources and evaluating peripheral targets. A preliminary economic assessment of the heap leach expansion option is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.
