en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 3, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Company (AGMK) of Uzbekistan announced that a maintenance base for mining transport and auxiliary equipment, covering approximately 4.5 hectares, is under construction at the Yoshlik I mine. The facility is primarily tasked with performing first- and second-level maintenance operations on mining transport equipment and auxiliary machinery. The maintenance base is being built as a standalone industrial complex, with supporting facilities including an administrative and welfare building, a canteen, a materials warehouse, access control facilities, a mining equipment repair shed with inspection pits, a mechanical repair workshop, gas cutting and manual welding stations, a concrete trestle, a waste oil drainage trestle, and an underground waste oil storage tank. The project also includes plans for a fuel and lubricant container storage area, a large tire warehouse, vehicle washing stations, wastewater treatment facilities, and a modular pumping station.

To ensure continuous operations at the mine site, the base will also be equipped with an outdoor substation, a potable water pumping station, a fire-fighting pumping station, warehouses for nitrogen, oxygen, and propane gas cylinders, a parking area, and a solid domestic waste storage area. The project also reserves space for the construction of a solar photovoltaic power station and includes diesel generator facilities as backup power sources.

Currently, the installation of the metal frames for the repair shed with inspection pits is approximately 95% complete, with wall profiled sheeting installation underway; all metal columns for the large tire warehouse have been installed, and the connecting structures are about 98% complete, with wall and roof construction in progress. The metal columns and connecting structures for the welding and gas cutting stations and the mechanical repair workshop have all been completed, and the installation of profiled sheeting and sandwich panels for the walls and roofs has also been finished. The project is being carried out by the contractor Olmaliqmetallurgqurilish.

In June of this year, AGMK also published procurement information related to the repair industrial site for the Yoshlik I mine development project, which likewise involved facilities for TO-1 and TO-2 maintenance of mining transport and auxiliary equipment, as well as the construction of production areas and administrative and welfare buildings, forming a direct chronological continuation with the current construction phase.
