Mexico's Cuasar Capital Advances 300MW AI Data Center Campus
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Cuasar Capital, under Spain's EOSOL Group, has partnered with KA URBE IT to advance the development of the Cuasar Data Center campus in Durango, Mexico. The campus's core project, DC Norte Uno, is planned with a total capacity of 300MW, of which 250MW is allocated for IT loads, covering approximately 20 hectares and designed to Tier III standards for high-density artificial intelligence computing workloads.
The campus's second facility, DC Norte Dos, is planned with a capacity of 7.74MW, also adopting Tier III standards, primarily serving edge computing and industrial loads. The two companies will jointly handle market development for both facilities. The campus plans to connect to three carrier networks via the Phoenix–Querétaro communications corridor, linking to Mexico and other digital infrastructure hubs.
The Durango state government previously confirmed that the Cuasar Data Center Norte Uno project involves an investment of approximately $3.3 billion, with a planned installed capacity of 300MW, and is expected to create around 300 direct jobs and 2,000 indirect jobs. Including another data center, Cuasar's two planned data center investments in the region total approximately $3.4 billion.
Cuasar Capital is also developing photovoltaic projects in Durango and other parts of Mexico. EOSOL currently operates over 1GW of commissioned renewable energy projects, with approximately 4.5GW of projects under development, and these energy assets will be advanced in tandem with the data center infrastructure development.
