Key ASIC and CT Vision Plan 300MW Green AI Data Center in Malaysia

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 4, Malaysian listed company Key ASIC Berhad and Hong Kong-listed CT Vision (International) Holdings Limited signed a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding to jointly develop and construct a large-scale green artificial intelligence data center in Malaysia. The project aims to achieve approximately 300MW of IT load capacity within five years after commercial operation.

The project integrates AI computing infrastructure and independent green energy facilities into a single development plan. The design targets set by both parties for the data center include a PUE no higher than 1.20; according to information submitted by Key ASIC to the stock exchange, the project plans for at least 50% of its energy needs to be met by green energy. The parties further propose building dedicated renewable energy power generation facilities to provide long-term electricity for the data center.

Under the division of responsibilities, Key ASIC intends to leverage its capabilities in energy-efficient ASIC chip design, chip R&D, power management, and server infrastructure optimization to participate in project planning, design, construction, deployment, operation, and energy efficiency optimization; CT Vision will be responsible for participating in project development by leveraging its resources in international financing, new energy, and energy efficiency technologies.

The memorandum of understanding signed by both parties has an initial term of 10 years, renewable upon mutual consent. The current agreement constitutes a non-binding preliminary cooperation arrangement. The specific project price, payment mechanisms, investment structure, and commercial and technical terms are still subject to determination through subsequent formal agreements. Therefore, at this stage, the 300MW target cannot be characterized as having commenced construction or representing a finalized construction scale.

Subsequent project work includes feasibility studies, site planning, detailed engineering design, and commercial structuring. The current project arrangement proposes advancing formal agreements by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026, but the specific construction site, phased capacity, total investment amount, commencement date, and commercial operation date have not yet been officially announced.
