en.Wedoany.com Reported - Fortis Digital Solutions, a UAE-based technology ecosystem enterprise, and Paymob, a financial services enabler in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, have announced an integration partnership. Fortis Digital Solutions' business covers the integration of POS terminals, payment, and business management tools, while Paymob offers one of the region's most comprehensive payment acceptance methods, enabling businesses of all sizes to accept online and in-store payments. Under the partnership, Paymob merchants can directly install Fortis SmartPOS on their existing payment terminals, transforming devices originally used for payment collection into a complete POS solution.

Fortis SmartPOS allows merchants to take orders, manage customer profiles, run loyalty programs, and track daily sales on the same terminal, operating in parallel with the terminal's existing card and cash payment, shift handover management, and reporting functions. Merchants can also view real-time sales, order, and inventory data across their entire business through the Fortis cloud platform. In terms of deployment, new Paymob customers can enable the feature during the onboarding phase, while existing merchants do not need to replace hardware, as the Fortis team handles installation remotely.

This partnership comes against the backdrop of accelerating digital payment adoption in the UAE and rising demand from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for technology that goes beyond mere payment acceptance. A recent survey shows that 92% of SMEs in the UAE have already adopted digital payment solutions, indicating that the market is ready for tools that help merchants run their operations end-to-end.

Sandeep Gomes, Managing Director of Fortis, stated that many SMEs have recognized the value of digitizing their operations, but the complexity of adopting new systems often poses a barrier. By bringing Fortis SmartPOS to Paymob terminals, merchants can take this step more easily without completely overhauling their existing systems. Fortis believes that the significance of this partnership lies in making digital transformation for SMEs simpler, more accessible, and more achievable.

Nour Abdelmotteleb, Head of Partnerships at Paymob, noted that payments are only part of running a successful business. Merchants already trust Paymob to support their payment operations, and with Fortis, Paymob is building on that trust to help merchants go beyond payment acceptance and take fuller control of their operations. By integrating sales management, customer insights, and more tools into the same experience, merchants can more easily run their businesses, make smarter decisions, and focus on what matters most—their customers.
