Digital Realty Enters Türkiye Through New Data Center Joint Venture

The Ankara project will connect to Digital Realty's global data center platform PlatformDIGITAL, serving cloud services, artificial intelligence, enterprise IT, network operators, and public sector customers. According to Digital Realty's official information, the company currently operates more than 300 data centers across more than 30 countries and over 55 metropolitan areas worldwide.

Rönesans Infrastructure is responsible for local infrastructure development, investment, construction, and operational capabilities. The company's business covers social infrastructure, transportation, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure. It has more than 30 years of international project development experience and has established project financing partnerships with financial institutions such as IFC, EBRD, and DEG.

In addition to the Ankara project, the joint venture also plans to develop a second data center in Istanbul. Digital Realty has incorporated the Turkish market into its digital infrastructure layout for Southeastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean. The two facilities in Ankara and Istanbul will together form a data center node serving both domestic Turkish and international customers.

The Ankara project has now entered the early construction phase, with the first facility scheduled for completion in 2028. Digital Realty and Rönesans have not yet disclosed the total project investment, the two parties' equity stakes in the joint venture, the EPC contractor, the mechanical and electrical equipment suppliers, or the subsequent phased capacity.
