Manitowoc to Premiere Potain Evy 28-21 Self-Erecting Tower Crane in France

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Manitowoc has announced that it will showcase the Potain Evy 28-21 self-erecting tower crane for the first time at the Batimat 2026 construction exhibition, to be held in Paris, France, from September 28 to October 1. The new machine has a maximum lifting capacity of 2.2 tonnes, a maximum working radius of 28 metres, a maximum load of 950 kilograms at the 28-metre jib end in P+ mode, and a hook height of 20.9 metres in the standard horizontal configuration. It is primarily aimed at residential construction, timber-frame construction and roofing work.

The jib of the Evy 28-21 can be adjusted from the horizontal position to a 10°, 20° or 30° luffing angle, and at 30° the maximum hook height can reach 32.3 metres. The entire counterweight set can be transported by a single transport vehicle. The machine is equipped with the Smart Set-Up remote installation guidance system, which can assist in completing automatic crane erection via remote control.

The control system includes the Manitowoc Crane Control System (CCS), Drive Control and Power Control, covering the processes of equipment transport, installation and lifting operations. The machine also integrates the Potain CONNECT remote platform, enabling remote diagnostics, equipment operating data management and centralised equipment location tracking. Manitowoc has also equipped this model with wireless remote control and the Smart Set-Up installation assistance function.

This model is designed in accordance with the forthcoming EN 14439:2025 tower crane safety standard, which is scheduled to take effect in January 2027. Manitowoc has published the Evy 28-21 technical data on its official product page, where the main performance parameters listed include a maximum lifting capacity of 2.2 tonnes, a maximum working radius of 28 metres, a maximum jib-end load of 950 kilograms and a hook height of 20.9 metres in the basic configuration.

During Batimat 2026, Manitowoc will also display supporting products for self-erecting tower cranes, including the PowerBoost battery power supply system, modular tower crane anchoring devices and an onboard camera system. The Evy 28-21 will be displayed as a physical machine at Stand F086 in Hall H7.2 of the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition centre.
