12 machine tools commissioned at the new blank preparation and stamping workshop of Kirov "Mayak"

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 18, the Kirov "Mayak" plant in Russia (ПАО «Кировский завод «Маяк») put a new batch of production equipment into operation at its new blank preparation and stamping workshop, including 11 band saw machines, 1 straightening and cutting machine, as well as crank presses, cold heading automatics, and other Russian-made equipment. At present, the main process equipment of the workshop has been fully configured and put into production.

The band saw machines commissioned this time are used for cutting metal blanks, expanding blank output by increasing cutting speed and machining accuracy. The straightening and cutting machine is used for processing rod-type parts and can complete straightening and fixed-length cutting in a single operation, reducing subsequent machining steps in the original process. The newly commissioned stamping equipment includes crank presses and cold heading automatics. The company disclosed that after the new equipment was put into use, equipment changeover and adjustment operations were reduced, and the number of damages to dies and tooling also decreased.

The blank preparation and stamping workshop was formed in early 2026 by integrating the former blank preparation section and stamping section. When an institution under Russia's industrial authorities disclosed the information in March, the workshop was still in the stage of construction and preparation for commissioning, but it had already begun producing the first batch of blanks. In July, the renovation of the workshop building was completed, and the production area underwent renovation of the floor, walls, ceiling, and lighting system, while production equipment such as band saw machines, parts cleaning equipment, and presses was installed one after another.

With the commissioning of this round of equipment, the project has formed an implementation timeline from construction and trial production in March, to building renovation and equipment installation in July, and to the main process equipment being put into operation in September. Previously, blank processing and storage in the plant were scattered across the main production workshops. Starting in 2026, the related blank preparation work has been concentrated in an independent production area, with the new workshop uniformly undertaking front-end manufacturing processes such as metal material cutting, rod processing, and stamping.
