en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 21, ZTE announced that its CoMP SD (Coordinated Multi-Point Spatial Diversity) solution has achieved 110 km ultra-long-distance transmission in a backbone microwave network project in Peru. The project is located in complex geographical environments such as the Amazon rainforest, facing conditions including limited spectrum resources, complex interference, and ultra-long-haul link transmission. ZTE completed network deployment using a customized multi-band backbone microwave architecture.

ZTE advances Peru backbone microwave network construction with 110 km CoMP SD solution

The project adopts ZTE's high-power ODU equipment HRUT3D, with a maximum transmit power of 35 dBm, combined with high-order modulation technology to enhance long-distance link performance. According to data published by ZTE, the 110 km link design availability reaches up to 99.999%, with a thermal fade margin of up to 30 dB, meeting the backbone microwave network's requirements for high reliability and large-capacity transmission.

The core technology of this deployment is the CoMP SD spatial diversity solution. ZTE reduces the number of devices required for the link by optimizing the spatial diversity architecture and hardware configuration, and mitigates the impact of spectrum interference through multi-band configuration. The company did not disclose the project customer name, specific site locations, link capacity, or investment amount.

ZTE previously completed a commercial deployment of CoMP SD single-hop exceeding 60 km in a 2025 Indonesia project. This Peru project further extends the single-hop transmission distance of the same solution to 110 km. The solution has already been deployed in multiple countries and regions, primarily targeting backbone network scenarios where fiber deployment is difficult, terrain is complex, or long-distance wireless backhaul is required.
