China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group Completes Shipment of 575 Turnout Sets for Morocco's Kenitra–Marrakech High-Speed Railway

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 21, the last batch of 111 high-speed railway turnouts developed by China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group Co., Ltd. under China Railway Hi-Tech Industry was shipped from Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province to Morocco. With this, China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group has completed all shipments for the Morocco Kenitra–Marrakech high-speed railway turnout project, which involves a total of 575 turnout sets organized in four batches.

These turnouts will be used in the construction of the Morocco Kenitra–Marrakech high-speed railway. The project line has a total length of approximately 430 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and is scheduled to enter operation by the end of 2029. According to the railway investment plan published by the Moroccan National Railways Office (ONCF), the Kenitra–Marrakech high-speed railway is a core component of its national railway expansion plan, with an investment scale of 53 billion Moroccan dirhams for railway infrastructure and equipment.

With the completion of this batch, the turnout manufacturing and domestic shipment phases undertaken by China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group have all concluded. The first batch of 80 turnout sets was shipped in November 2025, and entered the on-site installation phase in Morocco in April 2026. Subsequent batches were delivered successively, forming an implementation chain of "domestic manufacturing—batch transportation—on-site installation." In addition to product delivery, the 575 turnout sets also cover project execution elements such as related processes, manufacturing technology, quality control, and localized procurement.

According to project documents from the Moroccan National Railways Office, the Kenitra–Marrakech high-speed railway adopts an electrified double-track scheme, with a maximum design speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a maximum operating speed of 320 kilometers per hour, supported by track, stations, electrification facilities, and related technical systems. The project is scheduled to enter commercial operation by the end of 2029, aligning with Morocco's railway infrastructure construction timetable for the 2030 World Cup.
