Philippines Davao 6.7 Million Peso Layer Chicken Project Covers 8 Farmer Organizations

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 23, the Philippine Department of Agriculture's Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) program announced the implementation status of a new batch of layer chicken production projects in the Davao region, with 8 new farmer organizations receiving layer chicken farming project support totaling 6.73896 million pesos. Each organization received standardized farming inputs worth 842,370 pesos, and the projects have entered the stage of delivering equipment, poultry, and production materials.

A single project is equipped with 325 layer chickens, along with feed, cages, biological products, and other production materials needed during the farming process. Calculated across 8 organizations, this batch of projects has deployed a total of 2,600 layer chickens, forming 8 independent community layer chicken farming units, primarily aimed at establishing sustained egg production capacity.

The 8 beneficiary organizations are distributed across Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, and Davao del Norte. Among them, Davao Oriental includes the Tamban Farmers Association, Maganda Agricultural Farmers and Workers Association, Abuyu-an Rural Women's Association, and Hulid Patrol Base Farmers Association; Davao Occidental has the Kalatipus Christian Farmers Association; Davao del Sur has USBONG KAMAG; and Davao del Norte includes the Datu Balong Farmers Association and Southern Highlands and United Tribal Clans of Melako Inc.

The Tamban Farmers Association, located in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, is one of the organizations that has completed on-site turnover in this round of projects. The association received the layer chicken farming project on September 3, obtaining 325 layer chickens and a complete set of production inputs. According to Philippine Department of Agriculture project documents, the association's 2026 layer chicken project budget is also 842,370 pesos, consistent with the unified allocation standard for this batch.

With the inclusion of this batch of 8 organizations into the project, the number of farmer organizations supported by DA-SAAD in the Davao region has increased from 28 to 36. This project mainly adopts a complete package input approach of "layer chickens + cages + feed + biological products," with beneficiary organizations responsible for subsequent farming and egg production operations.
