The Southwest Missouri Hay Auction is held on the first Saturday of each month, with the next one scheduled for September 5.

Hancock also mentioned that Missouri's current pasture conditions are somewhat surprising for this time of year and may be the best among all beef cow and calf states nationwide. According to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), 80% of the state's pastures are rated good to excellent.
