Philippines' Isla and Peak Fuel Launch Joint LPG Import

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 26, Isla Petroleum & Gas Corp. of the Philippines and Peak Fuel Corp. reached a joint loading cooperation arrangement for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The two parties will combine their respective LPG demand volumes at the import procurement stage, purchasing and shipping as a single import cargo, while continuing to operate independently and compete for end customers. Isla stated that this is the first time two independent LPG importers in the Philippines have adopted such a joint loading model.

This cooperation mainly covers the import procurement and transportation stages. The two parties will combine their respective demand volumes to jointly organize import supply, carry both parties' cargoes on a single vessel, and then move into their respective storage and sales systems according to their respective procurement shares. Public information has not yet disclosed the LPG volume, supply source, shipping schedule, or contract duration of the first joint import.

Isla currently operates LPG import and distribution business in the Philippines and in April 2026 commissioned its new Isla Import Terminals facility in Batangas City. Peak Fuel's LPG terminal is also located in Batangas City, with a refrigerated LPG storage capacity of 32,000 tons. It can receive propane and butane transported by VLGCs through its jetty and supply the Philippine market via road tankers and coastal gas carriers.

Peak Fuel's existing facilities can directly discharge refrigerated LPG and store it in two refrigerated storage tanks. The company has previously procured imported LPG on a DAP or CFR basis, and can also use the Batangas jetty for domestic reloading and road distribution. The joint loading arrangement will mainly apply to the vessel loading and procurement organization stages when the two companies import jointly.
