Among them, Agentic AI is assessed as a technology direction likely to enter broader application within the next five years and to have a high impact on the logistics industry. DHL defines it as AI systems capable of autonomously perceiving inputs, formulating plans, making decisions, and executing multi-step tasks under established goals.

The report places Agentic AI and AI Analytics side by side as important technology layers in supply chain intelligence. The former is responsible for planning, coordination, and execution, while the latter is used to identify patterns, predict risks, and propose action recommendations. Application scenarios given by DHL include identifying inventory shortages in advance, automatically adjusting cargo flows when transportation is disrupted, and reconfiguring transport capacity based on real-time demand.
