en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the National Nuclear Safety Administration officially released China's first "Standard Technical Specifications for Active Nuclear Power Plants" and accompanying interpretations for M310 and improved nuclear power plants. The document was led by CGN Suzhou Nuclear Power Research Institute, helping to build a nuclear power standard system that is safer, more scientific, and better adapted to China's actual conditions.

Technical specifications are important documents for ensuring the safe operation of nuclear power units within design basis and for preventing and mitigating accidents. The technical specifications released this time apply to second-generation improved million-kilowatt pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants within China, and can provide a unified basis for the preparation, optimization, and review of technical specifications for units of the same type.

For a long time, relevant reactor-type units in China mainly referred to French general operating rules, but in terms of adapting to current regulatory requirements, the original French-system technical specifications had limitations in adapting to China's current regulatory requirements. Under the guidance of the National Nuclear Safety Administration, the group launched independent research and development of Chinese-system technical specifications. In 2022, with Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant as the pilot plant, the optimization and switchover of Chinese-system technical specifications were completed, and in the following three years, the application was promoted across 24 units of the same type under the group. The related achievements received high praise from international peers in the WANO assessment.

To promote the standardization and normalization of technical specifications, in 2024, based on the group's good pilot practices, the National Nuclear Safety Administration entrusted Suzhou Nuclear Power Research Institute to lead the preparation of standard technical specifications. After nearly two years of sorting, summarizing, demonstration, and improvement, the new standard added and strengthened multiple safety functions, optimized core clauses, and achieved the transformation from single-unit practice to industry-wide common results. Subsequently, relevant units within China will carry out work uniformly according to this standard.
