en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 18, Luo Delong, Deputy Director-General of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Organization, and his delegation visited the Southwestern Institute of Physics (SWIP) for research and guidance, gaining an in-depth understanding of SWIP's latest achievements in the field of nuclear fusion science and technology and the progress of ITER project cooperation. Zhang Libo, President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SWIP, Liu Zhonghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chen Qingchuan, Vice President, attended the relevant activities.

On behalf of SWIP, Zhang Libo extended a warm welcome to Luo Delong and his delegation, and expressed sincere gratitude to the ITER Organization for its long-term care, support, and guidance to SWIP. At the symposium, representatives of SWIP introduced the latest progress of key ITER projects, and both sides held in-depth exchanges on topics such as the development of key ITER components, project compliance, and technical breakthroughs.

Luo Delong expressed gratitude to SWIP for its important contributions to the implementation of the ITER plan, and appreciated SWIP's achievements in fusion research and key core technology breakthroughs in recent years. He stated that the ITER Organization recently signed a Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement with China Fusion Energy Co., Ltd., laying a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation. He encouraged the SWIP team to actively participate in international fusion research activities, enhance China's visibility and leadership on the world fusion stage, and make full preparations for future participation in ITER operation and experiments.

During the visit, Luo Delong and his delegation toured the Fusion Technology R&D Base at SWIP's Yongxing Campus and the Fusion Science Experimental Base at SWIP's Baijia Campus, gaining a detailed understanding of the construction and operation of the HL-3 tokamak and the fusion technology R&D platform.
