en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 25, Sirios Resources announced the launch of a new round of drilling at the Aquilon gold project in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Quebec, Canada. This round plans to carry out 1,800 meters of diamond drilling, including 3 new drill holes and the extension of 2 existing drill holes, with operations to be completed using a helicopter-supported drill rig. The main objective of this round of drilling at the project is to verify the continuity and extension of the large near-surface gold mineralization halo discovered in 2025 along strike and at depth.

According to Sirios, the target gold mineralization halo extends more than 700 meters north-south, is approximately 300 meters wide, and dips to the east. Drilling in 2025 previously returned a mineralized intercept of up to 298.2 meters at an average gold grade of 0.26 g/t in this area. This mineralized zone is less than 2 kilometers from the high-grade Lingo mineralized trend at the Aquilon project and approximately 3 kilometers from the Moman mineralized trend. This round of drilling will focus on testing the spatial continuity of this large-scale, low-grade gold mineralized system.

The Aquilon project covers approximately 7,100 hectares, and Sirios has previously identified more than 30 gold mineralization showings within the project area. In historical drilling, the Moman mineralized trend returned an intercept of 1.7 meters at a gold grade of 834.4 g/t, including 0.4 meters at 3,527.4 g/t; the Lingo mineralized trend also returned a high-grade result of 0.2 meters at a gold grade of 12,906.5 g/t. These historical results mainly reflect localized high-grade vein-type mineralization, while exploration since 2025 has been shifting toward a larger-scale gold mineralization halo.

Aquilon is currently being advanced by Sirios in partnership with Sumitomo Metal Mining Canada, with Sumitomo holding a 51% interest and Sirios holding a 49% interest and continuing to serve as project operator. In the 2026 exploration plan announced by Sirios in April this year, Aquilon was already listed as a third-quarter priority, with plans to carry out follow-up verification based on the 2025 drilling results; the 1,800-meter drilling launched on September 25 corresponds to this phase of the plan.

This year, Sirios is also simultaneously advancing gold projects such as Cheechoo in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region, among which the summer drilling at Cheechoo has exceeded 13,000 meters. However, the scale of this round of work at Aquilon is noticeably smaller. The focus is not on immediately establishing a resource, but rather on confirming the boundaries and continuity of the large gold mineralization halo newly discovered in 2025 through 3 new holes and 2 extension holes, and then deciding on subsequent larger-scale drilling deployment based on that.
