Commissioning Completed for Atlas's First Robotic Wood Roof Truss Production Line in Canada
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 8, Atlas Engineered Products of Canada announced that the first robotic wood roof truss production line at its automated manufacturing facility in Clinton, Ontario, has completed equipment installation and commissioning and entered the stage of personnel training and trial production. The new facility has a building area of approximately 3,902 square meters and uses robotic production equipment to manufacture wood roof trusses for construction. This is the company's first deployment of such an automated production system.

The supporting equipment for this production line arrived at the Clinton facility successively in 2026, and commissioning began in late July after installation was completed. On August 25, Atlas Engineered Products confirmed in its second-quarter business announcement that all equipment had arrived and been installed. On October 8, the company confirmed that commissioning of the production line was complete and that trial production testing of sellable wood roof truss products had begun.
The project received a non-repayable contribution of up to CAD 4 million under the Government of Canada's Investments in Forest Industry Transformation (IFIT) program. The funding covers the construction of the new facility and the purchase of robotic equipment and integrated sawing equipment. As of June 2026, the company had received CAD 3.6 million, with the remaining CAD 400,000 being a holdback stipulated in the agreement, originally scheduled for payment within 2026.
The new production line is equipped with robotic manufacturing equipment and an integrated sawing system. The project's design objectives include expanding wood roof truss production capacity, reducing wood processing waste, improving component manufacturing precision, and enhancing production efficiency. The procurement of both the robotic production line and the sawing equipment falls within the project content supported by this government funding agreement.
Atlas Engineered Products had previously planned to deliver its first batch of wood roof truss orders from the Clinton facility in September 2026
