en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 5, Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) announced that it had completed the Issued for Construction (IFC) detailed engineering design work for TAQA North's Ferrier Gas Plant natural gas processing project in west-central Alberta, Canada. The Phase 1 design of the facility has a natural gas processing capacity of 105 million standard cubic feet per day, approximately 2.97 million standard cubic meters, primarily processing natural gas production from TAQA North's surrounding development areas, with provisions for Phase 2 expansion incorporated into the facility design.

The Ferrier Gas Plant is a new non-sour natural gas processing facility. Its main process configuration includes inlet gas-liquid separation, mechanical refrigeration, deethanization, debutanization, recycle compression, natural gas liquids and condensate storage, flare system, heat medium system, instrument air system, and related utilities. The plant is designed to recover hydrocarbon liquids from raw natural gas and produce sales gas meeting pipeline transmission quality requirements.

Among these, the mechanical refrigeration and fractionation systems are responsible for the recovery and component separation of natural gas liquids and condensate, with the separated liquid hydrocarbon products planned for sale. The process design also includes recycle compression facilities and associated storage systems, covering raw gas processing, liquid hydrocarbon recovery, product storage, and sales gas output.

GLE is responsible for engineering design and technical support across multiple disciplines including process, mechanical, piping, civil and structural, electrical, instrumentation, and controls. Its contracted scope of work includes design basis document preparation, engineering calculations, equipment technical specification development, engineering drawing development, 3D modeling, procurement support, and equipment vendor technical integration.

The engineering design also includes participation in Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP), regulatory engineering support, and construction document preparation. GLE has completed its IFC design work and continues to provide engineering technical support during project construction.
