en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 19, 3M Company of the United States announced the expansion of its strategic commercial cooperation with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amazon, and the issuance of warrants to another wholly-owned subsidiary of Amazon. According to a document filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on the same day, Amazon may subscribe for up to 3.162 million shares of 3M common stock at a price of $164.89 per share within seven years, in connection with the procurement of optical connectivity and other data center products.

Of the warrants issued this time, 85% of the corresponding shares are tied to the product procurement payments made by Amazon to 3M and will vest gradually as payments progress. When the cumulative payment for the relevant products reaches $6 billion, this portion of shares will vest in full; the remaining 15% of the shares are subject to vesting conditions based on specific event milestones. Based on the maximum number of subscribable shares and the exercise price, the stock subscription amount corresponding to the warrants is approximately $521 million.

The data center products covered by this cooperation between the two parties include optical connectivity products. In July 2026, Microsoft already adopted 3M's beam expansion optical technology in its artificial intelligence data centers. This technology is one of the product solutions launched by 3M for the data center optical connectivity market.
