China's Yuwang High-Speed Railway Enters Joint Commissioning and Testing Stage

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 20, as the inspection train departed from Chongqing East Station, the Yuwang High-Speed Railway launched joint commissioning and testing, entering a critical stage of project acceptance and laying a solid foundation for the early opening of the entire line.

The Yuwang High-Speed Railway is an important component of the Baotou (Yinchuan)-Haikou and Beijing-Kunming corridors of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network, and also an important supplement to the Yangtze River high-speed rail corridor. The line starts at Chongqing East Station, passes through Nan'an District, Banan District, Fuling District, Fengdu County, and Zhongxian County, and ends at Wanzhou North Station. The main line has a total length of approximately 254 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The entire line has 5 stations: Chongqing East, Fuling North, Fengdu North, Zhongxian, and Wanzhou North.

Joint commissioning and testing refers to the railway department's use of test trains and related inspection equipment, after the static acceptance of the high-speed railway project is completed, to conduct comprehensive testing of the functions, performance, status, and inter-system matching relationships of various systems of the high-speed railway, so as to meet the requirements for opening and operation.

The Yuwang High-Speed Railway began construction in October 2022, launched track-laying construction on April 3, 2026, completed track laying across the entire line on September 1, and entered the joint commissioning and testing stage on October 20, 2026. All work is progressing steadily according to the construction schedule.

After the Yuwang High-Speed Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will strengthen the connection between the urban agglomeration of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area in northeastern Chongqing and the main urban metropolitan area, greatly facilitate travel for people along the line, promote economic and social development along the line, and be of great significance for better serving the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
