China-Mongolia Largest Railway Port's Import and Export Volume Exceeds 15 Million Tonnes

As of October 11, the import and export volume for the year reached 15.0143 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%, surpassing 15 million tonnes 19 days earlier than last year. Of this, imported goods totaled 12.5565 million tonnes, up 5.8% year on year; exported goods totaled 2.4578 million tonnes, up 15.8% year on year. The capacity to ensure smooth operation of the logistics corridor opening northward has continued to strengthen.

It is reported that Erenhot Railway Port is the largest railway port between China and Mongolia and also the only railway port for entry and exit on the central route of China-Europe freight trains. Up to now, 76 China-Europe freight train routes have passed through Erenhot Railway Port, reaching more than 70 hub stations in over 10 countries including Germany and Poland. The categories of transported goods have expanded to more than 10,000 types including new energy products, auto parts, and electronic home appliances, and the two-way cargo flow structure has continued to optimize.

The steady rise in freight volume stems from the dual guarantee of stable and efficient transport and continuously optimized customs clearance. The railway sector has continued to deepen the "two-station integration" organization model with Zamyn-Uud Station in Mongolia, making good use of the "daily dialogue and monthly meeting" mechanism to promptly exchange and share information on the train flow structure and station inventory between border stations, comprehensively enhancing cross-border freight service support capacity. Railway, customs, border inspection and other departments have worked closely together with efficient coordination.
