Continuous Beam Closure of the 686.9-Meter Extra-Large Bridge on the Guangxi Huangbai Railway Constructed by China Railway 25th Bureau Group
en.Wedoany.com Reported - In the early hours of October 15, the final continuous beam span of the Nameng Chengbi River Extra-Large Bridge on the Guangxi section of the Huangbai Railway, constructed by China Railway 25th Bureau Group, was successfully closed, completing all continuous beam construction. The bridge is located in Youjiang District, Baise City, Guangxi, with a total length of 686.9 meters and four continuous beam spans. It crosses the Chengbi River Reservoir and the Yinchuan-Baise Expressway, and is a key bridge project on the newly built Huangtong, Guizhou to Baise, Guangxi Railway.

The continuous beam construction of the bridge involved high-altitude operations, dense reinforcement tying, and mass concrete pouring. The section crossing the expressway adopted a fully enclosed form traveler construction process to prevent construction materials from falling onto the roadway below. The project department of China Railway 25th Bureau Group formulated a special construction plan for the difficulties in concrete distribution and beam body pouring, and arranged technical personnel to conduct full-process on-site supervision of procedures such as concrete mixing, transportation, pouring, and vibration.
The Chengbi River Reservoir crossed by the bridge is a national first-class drinking water source protection area. The construction unit set up an environmental protection isolation belt of more than 300 meters on the water surface around the continuous beam operation area and equipped real-time water quality monitoring devices. The monitoring data are transmitted simultaneously to the project information management room and mobile terminals through a cloud platform. When abnormal conditions such as mud leakage or oil pollution occur, the system automatically issues an alarm. Previously, the project construction team also used double-wall steel cofferdams 15 meters high and weighing 160 tons in the construction of in-water piers to isolate the water area for pile foundation operations.
In July 2026, the pile foundation and pier construction of the Nameng Chengbi River Extra-Large Bridge were fully completed, and the continuous beam construction progress exceeded 90%. During construction, the project team used high-performance shrinkage-compensating concrete and selected the low-temperature early morning period for pouring according to local temperature changes to control cracks in the beam body concrete. After the closure of this final span, all continuous beam construction of the bridge was completed.
The Huangbai Railway starts from Huangtong Station in Guizhou Province, enters Guangxi, passes through Leye and Lingyun, and connects to Yongle Town Station on the Nanning-Kunming Railway, and is introduced into Baise Station through the Yongle-to-Baise second-track expansion project. The railway has a total length of about 315 kilometers, a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour, adopts the National Grade I single-track electrified railway standard, and is planned to be completed and opened to traffic in 2028.
Among them, the Yongle-to-Baise second-track expansion project of the Nanning-Kunming Railway is about 12 kilometers long. Its construction content includes 8 bridges, 9 tunnels, and 21 subgrade sections, and the reconstruction of Yongle Town Station. According to the project plan, the railway train passing capacity of this section will increase from 45 pairs per day to 165 pairs per day.
