en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 29, the Spanish energy group Repsol (Repsol) released its 2026–2030 domestic project investment plan, planning to develop energy and industrial projects in Spain totaling €11.5 billion, of which approximately 60%, or about €7 billion, will be directed to existing large industrial sites and their surrounding areas. The investment scope includes renewable hydrogen production facilities, renewable fuel plants, wind power, energy storage and pumped-storage hydropower facilities, and currently constitutes a multi-year project investment plan.

Industrial projects will be focused on the Petronor refining base near Cartagena and Bilbao, as well as other existing industrial facilities. Repsol plans to add two renewable hydrogen production facilities with a combined capacity of 200 MW, and to build a third fuel production plant using 100% renewable feedstocks, supporting the existing related facilities in Cartagena and Puertollano. The company has already invested approximately €400 million in the latter two facilities.

Among chemical and circular fuel projects, Repsol continues to advance the Ecoplanta project in Tarragona, with a planned investment of more than €800 million to build an industrial facility producing renewable and circular methanol from municipal solid waste, targeting operation in 2029.

Power projects include the expansion of the Aguayo pumped-storage hydropower station in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, Spain. Under the current plan, the project is scheduled to add 1 GW of installed capacity, raising the station's total installed capacity to 1.4 GW, with expected annual power generation of nearly 2 billion kWh. Repsol also plans to continue advancing the development of wind power and other energy storage projects.
