German Dynamic E-Flo Develops Hollow Conductor Winding Direct Cooling Technology
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 30, German motor company Dynamic E-Flow is improving motor heat dissipation performance through hollow conductor winding direct cooling technology. This technology changes traditional solid copper conductors into hollow structures, allowing cooling medium to flow directly through the interior of the conductors, removing heat from the location where it is generated and reducing the thermal conduction resistance between the winding and the external cooling system.

Traditional motors usually dissipate heat through external cooling structures such as water jackets, and the heat generated by the winding must pass through insulation layers, structural materials and air gaps before it can be transferred to the cooling medium. As motors continue to operate under high load, rising winding temperatures limit current and output power, causing the motor's peak power to be maintained only for a short time. The capcooltech® technology proposed by Dynamic E-Flow integrates cooling channels into the interior of copper conductors, allowing the cooling medium to directly contact the inner walls of the conductors, shortening the heat dissipation path and improving the winding temperature distribution.
According to the company's official website, this technology can increase motor current density to 70–100 A/mm² and enhance motor power density through direct cooling. The company claims that under specific design conditions, motors using this technology are expected to reduce volume by approximately 50%, or achieve higher output power at a similar volume. The above data are technical performance claims published by the company, and actual results still depend on motor structure, cooling system and specific application conditions.
Winding direct cooling technology targets application fields such as aerospace, automotive, marine and industrial automation. For electric aircraft, higher continuous power and lower motor weight help optimize propulsion system design; in the marine sector, reduced motor and generator volume may also improve equipment installation, removal and maintenance conditions. Industrial vehicles, marine propulsion and test benches—equipment that requires stable output power over long periods—are also potential application directions.
Dynamic E-Flow was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Germany, with business covering motor development, manufacturing and drive system integration. According to its official website, its hollow conductor cooling technology has been used in high-performance motor development, and the company has capabilities ranging from prototype design and prototype manufacturing to test validation. This report mainly cites interview content from the company's technical director and does not disclose specific motor models, rated power, efficiency comparisons, continuous operation test duration or third-party validation data; therefore, the relevant performance improvement figures still need to be evaluated in conjunction with specific products and test results.
