en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 4, Worldpac, a U.S. automotive parts distributor, announced plans to open its first automated distribution center in Forest Park, Georgia. The facility, with a building area of approximately 38,300 square meters, is scheduled to begin operations in the first half of 2027 and will adopt the AutoStore robotic storage and retrieval system. It is expected to create more than 150 jobs, with the first customer shipments planned for spring 2027.

The new center is located at 2160 Anvil Block Road, approximately 28 miles (45 kilometers) from WORLDPAC's existing distribution center in Norcross, Georgia, and about 8 miles (13 kilometers) from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. According to reports, the new facility will add more than 250,000 square feet (approximately 23,200 square meters) of distribution space compared with the existing Norcross distribution center and will serve branches and customers in the southeastern United States and surrounding markets.

In terms of automation systems, the center will use AutoStore robotic storage and retrieval technology. The system uses robots to store and retrieve inventory within a storage grid and automatically transports the required parts to workstations for employees to carry out order picking, inventory replenishment, and goods handling. WORLDPAC's recruitment information also explicitly mentions that the facility will be equipped with an AutoStore Goods-to-Person system.
