Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 3, NHPC, acting on behalf of Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL), has issued a tender to identify developers for the construction of 1.2 GW of solar power projects in the Jalaun Solar Power Park, located in Uttar Pradesh, India. BSUL is a joint venture between NHPC and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).

The solar park is divided into two sites within Jalaun district: one in Madhogarh, Tehsil Madhogarh, and the other in Orai, Tehsil Orai. These locations have been designated by BSUL for the development of the project.

Under the terms of the tender, the selected developer will be responsible for building, owning, and operating the solar power facilities. The projects will be connected to the central transmission utility (CTUIL) grid, enabling the delivery of generated electricity to the wider power network.

BSUL will facilitate project execution through two key agreements. A power purchase agreement (PPA) will be signed with the selected solar power generator, and a power sale agreement (PSA) will be established between BSUL and the final electricity buyer. These arrangements ensure the commercial structure required for the project's operation and energy distribution.

The developers awarded capacity under this tender will be required to complete commissioning of the solar plants within 18 months from the date of signing the PPA.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to increase renewable energy capacity in Uttar Pradesh, contributing to India’s long-term clean energy goals. The 1.2 GW project is expected to significantly enhance the availability of solar power in the region while supporting sustainable development through the efficient use of solar resources.
