Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 18, ACMobility announced a major step in its electric vehicle charging expansion in the Philippines through a partnership with Shell. The company will install DC fast chargers with capacities between 60 and 120 kW at 50 Shell service stations across the country. This marks the beginning of a broader plan to build a nationwide charging network.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, ACMobility will introduce the first 20 DC fast chargers at Shell service stations. The rollout will cover all three of the Philippines’ main regions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The remaining 30 Shell sites will be equipped with chargers in 2026, completing the first phase of the collaboration. ACMobility noted that this marks only the initial stage, with further expansion to follow.

Customers will be able to access the chargers, track charging progress, and process payments using the Evro app available on both iOS and Android devices. This integration aims to provide a seamless charging experience and support the growing demand for reliable charging infrastructure in the country.

Commenting on the partnership, ACMobility’s Head of Mobility Infrastructure, Carla Buencamino, said: “ACMobility is pleased to welcome Shell as a partner in delivering the Philippine EV Spine Network.” Jolo Valdez, Head of Non-Fuel Retail and E-Mobility for Mobility at Shell, added: “Shell shares ACMobility’s vision of advancing sustainable mobility in the Philippines.”

Currently, Shell has a relatively limited footprint in the Philippine EV charging sector. Its existing facilities include 180 kW DC fast chargers and 22 kW AC chargers at two service stations, along with 22 kW AC chargers at eight mall and destination sites. In contrast, ACMobility has built up a larger presence, operating 239 charging points across 103 sites nationwide, as reported by Ayala Corporation in its second-quarter 2025 financial statement.

Earlier in May, ACMobility deployed the country’s fastest EV chargers, capable of delivering up to 480 kW. This reflects the company’s strategy of scaling its infrastructure rapidly to meet the needs of electric vehicle owners. Its long-term target is to expand the network to more than 2,500 charging points.

The partnership between ACMobility and Shell is expected to accelerate the development of the Philippines’ charging ecosystem, ensuring greater accessibility for drivers across the country. With investments from both companies, the initiative aims to support the growth of electric vehicles and improve convenience for users, while positioning the Philippines as a stronger participant in the regional shift toward electrified transportation.

This collaboration highlights the growing role of private sector partnerships in addressing the infrastructure requirements of the EV market, aligning with the broader trend of integrating sustainability into mobility services. It also illustrates how international and domestic players can combine strengths to advance industry transformation and meet rising consumer demand.
