Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 21, The Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA), the regulatory body overseeing Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), has announced an AED 1.3 billion ($354 million) development plan to transform DHCC into a global hub for healthcare innovation, investment, and sustainability. The initiative will introduce several key infrastructure projects designed to enhance Dubai’s healthcare ecosystem and attract international investment.

The plan includes the construction of DHCC’s first LEED Platinum-certified office building, a purpose-built medical complex, and a series of supporting facilities aimed at promoting sustainability and operational excellence. Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2025, with completion expected by November 2027.

Issam Galadari, Chief Executive Officer of DHCA, stated: “Our upcoming development plan, starting with these flagship projects, reflects our commitment to shaping the future of healthcare infrastructure in Dubai. By creating an ecosystem that attracts investments and fosters innovation while integrating sustainability with world-class design, we are aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, and the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050.”

The LEED Platinum office building, designed by P&T Architects and Engineers, will cover 13,000 square meters across three basement levels and nine floors. It will feature a combination of flexible office spaces and ground-floor retail units. The building aims to meet the highest standards of energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainable materials, and indoor environmental quality.

The development also includes a 5,800-square-meter medical complex designed by Dubai-based Design and Architecture Bureau. The complex will provide adaptable facilities for surgical operations, diagnostic centers, laboratories, outpatient clinics, and medical offices. With a shell-and-core design and smart parking integration, it is structured to accommodate evolving healthcare technologies and service needs.

In addition, DHCA will construct multi-storey car parks equipped with electric vehicle charging stations and Salik-integrated smart parking systems. These facilities will include universal accessibility features to improve convenience for all users.

Allae Almanini, Chief Operating Officer of DHCA, emphasized the strategic importance of the project: “Our priority is to deliver infrastructure that enables growth and creates confidence for healthcare providers and investors.”

Through this large-scale development, DHCA aims to position Dubai Healthcare City as a leader in sustainable healthcare infrastructure and as a preferred destination for global medical and research organizations. The project supports Dubai’s broader goals of strengthening the healthcare sector, driving foreign investment, and fostering innovation within the framework of the UAE’s long-term sustainability and economic diversification strategies.

Once completed, the new facilities are expected to attract international healthcare companies, enhance the quality of medical services available in the region, and further establish Dubai as a center for advanced healthcare solutions and sustainable urban development.
