Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 13, AI startup Anthropic announced on Wednesday that it will invest $50 billion to build new data centers in the United States, marking one of the largest infrastructure commitments in the artificial intelligence sector. The initiative reflects the company’s plan to expand its computing capacity as global demand for AI technology continues to grow.

Anthropic, known for developing the Claude family of AI models, said it will partner with infrastructure provider Fluidstack to construct the data centers in Texas and New York, with additional sites to be developed in the future. These facilities will be custom-built to meet Anthropic’s technical requirements and are designed to support advanced AI workloads at scale.

This move comes amid a wave of major investments by technology companies seeking to expand their U.S. operations. The trend follows the government’s broader push to strengthen domestic AI infrastructure. Earlier this year, President Donald Trump directed the creation of a national AI Action Plan aimed at positioning the United States as a global leader in artificial intelligence development. In July, several U.S. technology and energy firms announced large-scale AI and infrastructure investments during a tech and AI summit held in Washington.

Anthropic stated that its $50 billion investment “will help advance the goals in the Trump administration’s AI Action Plan to maintain American AI leadership and strengthen domestic technology infrastructure.” The company said the project is expected to generate around 800 permanent positions and 2,400 construction jobs as the facilities become operational through 2026.

Founded in 2021 by a team of former OpenAI researchers, Anthropic has rapidly emerged as one of the leading AI firms worldwide. Its Claude models are widely recognized for their high performance and reliability across enterprise applications. The company currently serves more than 300,000 enterprise clients globally.

Headquartered in San Francisco, Anthropic is backed by major investors including Alphabet, the parent company of Google, and Amazon. As of early September, the company was valued at $183 billion, reflecting its growing influence in the AI industry.

The large-scale data center development underscores Anthropic’s ambition to enhance its technological infrastructure and ensure greater control over its computing resources. The planned facilities are expected to support future versions of the Claude AI models and provide additional capacity for enterprise and research customers.

With this investment, Anthropic joins a series of technology firms making long-term commitments to expand AI infrastructure in the United States, reinforcing the country’s position as a key hub for advanced artificial intelligence research and deployment.
