Wedoany.com Report-Dec.11, CMA CGM has notified its customers of an important port change effective immediately. The company will no longer call at Port Elizabeth for services originating from the Indian Subcontinent (ISC) and Middle East Gulf (MEG). The new destination port is Coega, utilising Ngqura Container Terminal.
All existing bookings and future shipments will be automatically re-routed via the CMA CGM KRIBI voyage 0MSNIW1MA with a direct call on the MIDAS 1 service. The loading zone remains unchanged (Indian Subcontinent and Middle East Gulf). Freight rates previously quoted and confirmed for Port Elizabeth will continue to apply without modification to the new destination Coega/Ngqura. CMA CGM has confirmed that all cargo types, including dry, reefer, out-of-gauge and special equipment, are fully accepted at the new terminal.
In separate news, CMA CGM and the Société Internationale d'Importation et de Mise en Marché (SIIM) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement for 2026. The partnership ensures the weekly transportation of more than 70 refrigerated containers of fresh pineapples and bananas from Latin America to the port of Dunkirk, France. This dedicated service strengthens the existing flow that already consolidates over 5,000 refrigerated containers annually from both Africa and Latin America into Europe.
The agreement reflects continued commitment by both parties to reliable temperature-controlled logistics for perishable fruit supply chains serving the European market. The weekly volumes will operate throughout the full 2026 calendar year under fixed space and equipment guarantees provided by CMA CGM's specialised reefer fleet.
