Wedoany.com Report-Dec.27, Nanjing Red Sun Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese pesticide manufacturer, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with AGROVIDA ABC in Angola. The signing ceremony took place a few days ago in Angola.
The agreement aims to establish a joint production base for pesticides. This initiative focuses on developing the African agricultural market through localized manufacturing and supply of agricultural inputs.
Representatives from the Angolan government attended the event and engaged in detailed discussions with the Red Sun team. Officials included Jeronimo Nunda Pongolola, Executive Director of the Investment Promotion Agency; Isaac Francisco Maria dos Anjos, Minister of Agriculture; and Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, Minister of Industry and Commerce.
Jeronimo Nunda Pongolola committed to providing full support for the project, including prompt services and incentive policies to facilitate its implementation.
Isaac Francisco Maria dos Anjos praised the investment by the Chinese company. He highlighted Angola's need for locally produced pesticides to address agricultural material requirements. He expressed confidence in Red Sun's 36 years of industry experience, anticipating the prompt introduction of high-quality, environmentally friendly, and safe green pesticides to the market.
Rui Miguêns de Oliveira commended the cooperation as a significant contribution to Angola's economic development. He described it as a positive example of friendship between the two countries. He confirmed the Ministry of Industry and Commerce's readiness to expedite approvals and offer efficient services.
Africa's agriculture sector currently faces challenges such as limited infrastructure, insufficient technology, and shortages of agricultural materials. At the same time, the global agrochemical industry is shifting toward green, efficient, and localized production models.
As a prominent player in China's pesticide sector, Red Sun Co., Ltd. actively supports overseas expansion strategies. This partnership represents a key step in its international growth plan, helping to serve global agricultural needs.
Under the agreement, both parties will follow principles of complementarity and mutual benefit. The collaboration will initially concentrate on the production and marketing of pesticide formulations.
