The Wirral Council has recently unveiled the redevelopment plan for Riverside Primary School. The school construction project will be led and implemented by Morgan Sindall Construction. The new school building is located near Brighton Street in Wallasey, with a floor area of approximately 20,300 square feet. It will be equipped with educational facilities including a library, classrooms, an activity hall, and a nursery.

As part of the Department for Education's school construction program, the new Riverside Primary School will maintain a teaching capacity for 210 students, but its total area will increase by approximately 3,000 square feet. The campus will feature a multi-use games area, sports fields, and 13 parking spaces within the nearly four-acre site.

According to the submitted plan, the school construction project is expected to last 77 weeks. During the construction period, temporary teaching facilities will be set up on a disused bowling green adjacent to the existing school building. Once the temporary facilities are operational, the original school building will be demolished, and construction of the new building will commence immediately.

Designed by Sheppard Robson, the new school building is a two-story brick structure that will achieve net-zero emissions during its operational phase. The project team also includes specialist firms such as Greyside Planning, Arbtech, Tace, Clancy, Wardell Armstrong, Mott MacDonald, Liath Heritage, and Ares Landscape Architects. Upon completion of the new school, the temporary structures will be dismantled, and the original site will be converted into public green space.
